Johnson Egg Hunt

Monday, April 25, 2011

As is tradition, Russ and I joined the Johnson family and many of their friends for the annual Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter. We always enjoy catching up with everyone and watching ALL the children hunt for their eggs.

I think Roan hid around 600 eggs that day, and each child was able to find 15. So, if you do the math, maybe you can figure out how many kids were there! Ha! Once all the mamas get as many group pictures as they can, the kids are off to hunt their eggs. The older ones hunt in the woods and barn area. Fun! The little ones stay around and grab the ones on the ground in plain sight! Ha! Fun! I cannot wait to help a little one of my own find their eggs! Maybe by next year, we'll have a clearer picture of that! We'll see!

While the children and parents scramble for eggs, Russ and I visited with those we haven't seen in a while. We really had a great time!

Somehow I managed to leave without a single picture of Roan! So sorry! But, she put a lot of work into this event...including mowing the back yard, hiding the eggs, and making homemade bread that morning. I think I'll nickname her Ma Ingalls! Ha!

Thank you, Jimmy and Roan, for your hospitality! And for giving us a constant place to meet up with family and visit!
