Thankful for Fall Festivities

This time of year is so much fun!  Our little family stays pretty busy all year long, but especially during the fall months.  Once school starts up, football season begins and fall festivals and parties are planned.  Now, we are nearing Thanksgiving and Christmas.  And, let's face it, it takes those full two months to prepare for it all. 

And I love it!

Wednesday night, Russ and I drove to our hometown for the night as we prepared for the big day on Thursday.  We got in town just in time to stop by our hometown church's fall festival.  Of course, Millie Janalee's little BFF was there and high on sugar!  Ha!  She was climbing stairs and running around and just as happy as she could be.  Millie Janalee had her first taste of Sweet Tarts, and she ate the entire little pack...which pretty much turned out to be her supper.  She wouldn't eat her hot dog at the fall festival or the cheese quesadilla at the Mexican restaurant afterward.

Millie Janalee had just woken up from a good nap, so she wasn't her normal little happy self.  She had to warm up to the crowd and the noise.  Several of the older men and women offered a balloon to her, and we tied one to her ankle.  Paw Paw was able to carry her around and help her ease into the fun.  He tried to get her on the inflatable slide, but she wasn't too sure about it.  Ha!

Once the crowd thinned out and the workers steadily worked to dismantle everything, we found her happy spot.  Why didn't we find the fishing booth before?!  She talked and talked to every fish, crab, and turtle...pointing at each one.  I let her play here until the men were ready to take it down.

Another fun thing we have enjoyed during these fall months is our fall art!  I love these cute little baby footprint ghosts! 

The temperatures here are cool.  The leaves are changing.  And fall festivities are in full swing!  It just makes me thankful.
